Vorbim astazi despre: in, on, at, during si for.
Cand folosim prepozitii de timp in Engleza?
Cand folosim prepozitia IN?
Lunile anului:

in January – in Ianuarie
in April – in aprilie
Anotimpuri:
in spring – primavara
in winter – iarna
Anii: in 1984 / in 2015
Secole: in the 20th century
Momentele zilei :
in the morning – dimineata
in the evening – seara
- in the past – in trecut
- in the 1990s – in anii 90
- in the holidays – in vacante/in timpul vacantelor
Cand vorbim despre viitor: in a moment, in 2 weeks
- She’ll be back in a moment. Se va intoarce imediat.
- We’re going away in two weeks. Plecam peste doua saptamani.
Cand folosim prepozitia ON?
Folosim On pentru a vorbi despre zile si date calendaristice

Zilele saptamanii:
- on Monday – luni
- on Tuesday -marti
- on Friday – vineri dar on Fridays – vinerea
Date calendaristice:
- on November 22nd – pe 22 Noiembrie
Cum scriem data calendaristica?
Scriem: “on 1th July” dar spunem: on THE FIRST OF July – pe 1 iulie
Zile Speciale:
- on my birthday – de ziua mea
- on New Year’s Eve – de anul nou
- On Christmas Day – in ziua de craciun
- On Easter Day – in ziua de pasti
Zile + partile zilei:
- on Tuesday afternoon – Marti dupa amiaza
- on Saturday mornings – Sambata dimineata
Cand folosim AT?
- Ceasul: at 7.30 a.m. / at 5 o’clock la 7:30/ la ora 5
Sarbatori (perioade):
- La Craciun/La pasti – at Christmas / at Easter (pentru zilele de sarbatori, folosim on. On Christmas day.)
Exceptii:
- at night noaptea, at the weekend – rom. in weekend ( ”on the weekend” cand vorbim despre o zi anume din weekend)
Vezi acest acest video:
Cand folosim DURING?
Folosim prepozitia during pentru a vorbi despre ceva ce are loc in timpul a ceva:
- during the holidays – pe durata sarbatorilor in timpul sarbatorilor
- during the concert – in timpul concertului
- during the English class – in timpul orei de Engleza
Uneori, pot folosi atat during cat si in pentru a exprima acelasi lucru. Pot spune atat:
- I did a lot of work in the holidays. Am lucrat mult in timpul vacantelor.
cat si:
- I did a lot of work during the holidays. Am lucrat mult in timpul vacantelor.
Cand nu folosim prepozitii de timp?
Uneori nu folosim prepozitii de timp.Inaintea cuvintelor, every, next, this, si last. Ex.
- next week – saptamana viitoare
- this week – saptamana aceasta
- every day – in fiecare zi
Exemple:
- We go shopping every Saturday afternoon. Mergem la cumparaturi
Uneori, in vorbire, putem omite prepozitia on inaintea zilelor saptamanii. Putem spune:
- I’ll see you Friday. Ne vedem Vineri.
(Atentie, doar in vorbire, se poate omite prepozitia on.
De obicei, spunem:
- I’ll see you on Friday. Ne vedem Vineri.
Cand folosim FOR?
Folosim for pentru a arata cat timp dureaza ceva.
- I’m going to stay for 3 weeks. Voi sta 3 saptamani.
- I’ve been fere for 10 minutes.
- We’re going away in two weeks. Plecam peste 2 saptamani.
- We’re going away for two weeks. Plecam pentru doua saptamani.
Care este diferenta de sens?
- We’re going away in two weeks. Inseamna acelasi lucru ca si: We leave two weeks from now. Plecam in 2 saptamani.
- We’re going away for two weeks. Inseamna acelasi lucru ca si: Our holiday will be two weeks long. Plecam pentru doua saptamani. Vacanta noastra va dura 2 saptamani.
Facem diferenta de sens folosind prepozitiile: for, during, in
- It snowed for three hours. A nins timp de 3 ore.
- It snowed during the night. A nins in timpul noptii.
- It snowed in the night. A nins noaptea.
- It snowed at night. A nins noaptea.
In the night noaptea/in timpul noptii – de obicei, se refera la o noapte anume iar at night – se refera la oricare noapte, in general: ex.
- I was awake in the night, thinking about all the things that have happened.
- It’s not safe to travel at night. Nu este sigur sa calatoresti noaptea.

Hi, Mum, How’s it going?
Fine thanks, honey. How was school?
Good. I’ve got a note for you from Mr Martin.
Who’s Mr Martin? Your Spanish teacher?
I don’t study Spanish, Mum. You know that.
True. But you could. It’s a very useful language. They speak it …… Spain.
Mum, he’s the new headmaster at college. And he isn’t Spanish – or He’s British. But I think he said his parents are from London.
London? Wow. The headmaster … Ah yes, I remember him. I met him …. Christmas when I went to your school for that concert. …. December, anyway.
It would be good to speak to him about his parents’ country. I could interview him, then visit London …. summer … no, too hot maybe … autumn.
Well, he’d like to see you again too.
Really?
He wants you to go into school …. Monday or Tuesday ….. next week.
Have you done something wrong?
No, of course not! You know me. He wants to ask if you can give a talk about your work and your blog, your travels, that sort of thing. One day …. April, …. Careers Week.
So …. Monday or Tuesday? What time?
….. the afternoon or …. the early evening. …. 5 o’clock, if you can.
I can go …. half past four …. Tuesday, if that’s ok.
I’ll ask.
Let me see. I’m away ….. Bucharest …. three days …. April … but during your school holidays, I think. I’m going to Romania to write about traditions at Easter – oh, and then I’m away again … the end of the month. But I’m …. home …. two or three weeks. I can’t go …. Monday evening, because I have a Qi Gong class, and then I have to work … ….. night. I have a video call … midnight . Yes, definitely. I’ll go in …. Tuesday afternoon.
Can you write a note or send him an email, please?
I’ll phone him ….. the day tomorrow. I’m free …. a few hours … the morning.
OK, I’ll tell him. Where are you?
Here in town. I’m …. the travel agent’s. I’m chatting to your friend Jenna – I haven’t seen her … months!
No, it’s OK, I’ll see her …. the weekend. We’re going …. a party …. Saturday night.
OK, well I’ll be home … about an hour …about 7 o’clock probably. Pizza and a film tonight?
