Diferenta Dintre Why si What for

Uneori, putem folosi si ”for what” cand nu am inteles si vrem ca interlocutorul sa repete.

• I’m looking for my glasses. For what? My glasses.

Este similar cu:

• What are you looking for? My glasses.

Alte exemple cand for apare la sfarsitul propozitiei:

• What are you waiting for? Ce mai astepti?
• What are you here for? Pentru ce esti aici?
• What are you fighting for? Pentru ce te lupti?

Cand putem sa  folosim doar pe ”why? De ce?

Uneori, ne intereseaza doar cauza, explicatia si putem folosi doar pe ”why” :

• Why are you wet? Because it’s raining.
